Terri Plaisance, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

About Me

I provide mental health services to individuals, children, adolescents, and families. I specialize in the treatment of a wide variety of problems and challenges. I am a Registered Play Therapist with a passion of improving the lives of children, including those in foster care as well as those that have been adopted. I have extensive training and experience working with children who have experienced trauma, abuse, and neglect. I have over 15 years of mental and behavioral health experience as well as three years of public school teaching experience.

I use an eclectic mix of therapy styles based on each individual’s strengths to help them develop an understanding and awareness of the issues that are holding them back from meeting their full potential. I provide a non-judgmental environment that supports personal exploration of issues, leading to reconciliation and healing.

As a therapist, my goals are to empower you, increase your overall well-being, and resolve any mental and emotional disorders. I want to give you the tools to take control of your life and make positive and healthy choices. If I am not the right fit for you, I am happy to refer you! Simply ask and I’ll help guide you in the right direction.

I am a Kansas native, completing my counseling degree at Fort Hays State University. After moving to Texas in 2002, I earned my LPC license while working with children in foster care, and volunteering at the Warm Place in Fort Worth. After three years of teaching in the public school, I began working in private practice. I am married and have two amazing children. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dogs, chasing the kids, traveling with the family, shopping, and watching my favorite shows. I am an active member of a local church.
